I mean it makes no sense to be given a win in such cases Like if you physically canβt checkmate if your opponent got rid of his peices then it should be a draw Just my opinion
For people who don't understand: Black has a rook, which is more winnable. The one who ran out of time is black. If black lost the rook – sacrificed it – it would be an automatic stalemate because nobody can checkmate. BUT!!! White could theoretically win, as shown in the video, but black ran out of time. So, it's black "fault" that white did not win, it's not white who wasn't "good enough", so white deserves a win, not a draw. Now imagine you're playing with the black pieces in US rules. If you sacrifice your rook, you draw, if you trade pieces, draw, but white can simply not take. If you blunder like the losing position for black in the video, you lose. So you better just losing on time, to draw! CLOCK GAMBIT. this is unfair and unsportsmanlike. This rule of FIDE protects, in this case, white, who could win. chess is brains, but time management too. Black absolutely lost in time management, and even if white didn't win with mate, they won the game. (winnable position + not blundring the clock)
Lichess is not a COMPANY. It is a non profit organization with open source software, giving the chessworld something for free.
Besides, FIDE, although french in name, is the international organization that governs the sport. No one cares about US specific rules nor national masters….
Good that you were smiling so much, made video much better
Another reason lichess is better
In lichess it's almost impossible to run out of time if the opponent doesn't have checks.
On chess I ended up with a draw with a king and queen with 7 seconds left cause they're premoves stink, I could've won with 1 second on lichess.
America always doing it's own thing
but still a draw
If Alireza Firoujza and Alejandro Ramirez had a baby…
He said like "flagged the black pieces" what does that mean. Flagging pieces
I mean it makes no sense to be given a win in such cases
Like if you physically canβt checkmate if your opponent got rid of his peices then it should be a draw
Just my opinion
666 comments? Oops not anymore
Also lichess has the same functions, but for free

FIDE is absolutely better and you can't prove (or convince) otherwise.
Black can make a "time gambit" do draw, how unfair!
America being America yet again
What does flag mean
are you a lichess player
So lichess allows flagging when it's clearly a draw
it's also because lichess is a bunch of communists
Lichess is chad πΏπ
So that's why I keep getting stalemate
White DOES have sufficient material to checkmate. What are you talking about?? You contradicted yourself.

Hi! I have a doubt how to add my WCM title to lichess and what are the benefits of WCM title?
I thought for a moment that this guy is Alireza
I always find something new and useful in your videos. Thank you very much for your time and effort!
Fide rules are the universal rules of chess. US rules look like that someone was bitter that lost in than scenario and made that rule.
I got my very first brilliant move today π
Wanna colab
of course, Americans made their own rules, classic shit
π
What is the rules in fide ?
